taliban on it's way back

the taliban is rebuilding so says the christian science monitor:

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN - As the fiery chief justice of the Taliban's Supreme Court, Abdul Salam shook the world once, proclaiming the right to execute foreign aid workers accused of converting Afghans to Christianity.
Today, not only is Justice Salam back, talking to a foreign reporter for the first time since the Taliban fell a year and a half ago, but he says the Taliban are back as well. Regrouped, rearmed, and well-funded, they are ready to carry on guerrilla war as long as it takes to expel US forces from Afghanistan.
It's what Afghans want, "because during the Taliban times, there was peace and security," says Salam, who retains the long gray beard that marks him as a devout Muslim.

bumber sticker on a loney stetch of highway

i saw a homemade sign on a beige toyota mini-van today. "Decontruct the Leftist Hegemony" obviously made in msword, and afixed to his rear hatchback window. this dude was hardcore.

i couldn't believe this guy. i just had spent two days on the new mexico highway, looking for talk radio that would be worth listening to. rush, o'reilly, hannity, the "savage nation". this is what i listened to. never once did i hear the leftist hegemony. in fact, it was quite the opposite.

this article sucks, but i support it as an attempt to fix the system

honesty in politics may help, but, it is still a broke system when the folks who lead us are lead from multinational corporations. my plan to fix the problem: spend all the money you want on primaries, then shut down the system, after that it will be on the canidates to get out and make it happen with out slick ads, only grassroots campaining and debates. If the canidates want to be on TV, then make the news, and wait for the debate.

There is also evidence that Al Qaeda's remaining leadership believes the war in Iraq will produce a new stream of recruits disenchanted with American actions, perhaps allowing Al Qaeda to create a new front of international jihad.
